Thermal Management

Thermal management refers to the process of controlling and maintaining temperatures within a system or device to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

Every electronic device has thermal management to prevent overheating. Most electronic device will generate heat and sensitive internal component can damage cause of too much thermal energy accumulates. It also can be happened from external environment cause of excessive exposure.

Effective thermal management contributes to energy efficiency by reducing power consumption associated with cooling systems and improving the overall efficiency of systems and devices.

There are two types of thermal management

  1. Active Technologies
    • Active technologies will use external power source to operate cooling systems such as fans, pump and thermoelectric cooler.
  2. Passive Technologies
    • Not involved any external power source and it is enhanced natural conduction, convection or radiation taking place within the system.
